YES Summer Program
The Youth Energy Squad Summer Program aims to grow youth leadership in sustainability and justice by engaging high school students in developing, planning and completing youth-driven community greening projects that improve neighborhood environments within Detroit.
For Community Partners:
We invite community organizations, nonprofits and other partners to propose potential sustainability opportunities or issues in their neighborhoods. Proposals should include a sustainability topic, but not necessarily the details of an accompanying project. If selected, community partners will be matched with a group of students that will co-create a project to address their community’s sustainability needs. The development of the projects will include perspectives from the community partner, community members and student service members and will be overseen by AmeriCorps Green School Coordinators from the Youth Energy Squad.
We are accepting applications until March 24th. Questions? Contact Anna Balzer.
