A green community is healthy, attractive, environmentally sustainable, and supports the local economy.

We believe everyone has a right to efficient, clean energy and to affordable, healthy, and green living. 

As much as possible, we practice sustainability in our everyday activities and our own lives. 

If there is a problem we cannot solve, we try to refer people to the appropriate organization or service that can meet their needs.

Young people are not merely “the leaders of tomorrow” – they are leaders today with immense potential to make real, lasting change in their communities.  Youth must be an integral part of the dialogue around and the solutions to Detroit’s environmental, economic, and social challenges.

We value the work of the many hundreds of organizations, businesses, foundations, schools, faith communities, and government institutions working to renew Detroit.  We seek opportunities to collaborate, support, and unite with these organizations and recognize the strides they have already made.

We believe in the power of people to transform their neighborhoods and their city.
